September 20, 2015

NORTON - Two floors of a Wheaton College dormitory were drenched by a broken sprinkler head around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday forcing the relocation of 30-40 students for the night.

Fire Capt. Shawn Simmons said its not known what caused the sprinkler head to break in a second floor hallway of Meadows West Dormitory, but the ensuing deluge soaked both the second and first floors.

Simmons said college officials made other arrangements to house the students on campus for the night.

No one was injured.
