Eight ICU Patients Moved When Broken Sprinkler Head Damages Rooms
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) — A broken sprinkler head spewed water into several Spring Valley Hospital intensive care rooms early Sunday.
Eight patients had to be moved from their private ICU rooms to other areas for care, according to Valley Hospital System spokeswoman Gretchen Papez.
"The patients are all receiving the same level of care that they had been receiving just in other areas of the hospital," Papez told News 3. "Everybody is fine and they are receiving proper care."
Papez said the rooms will be closed as staffers check the extent of the water leakage to ensure a complete repair.
A video submitted anonymously to News 3 shows towels deployed in several ICU rooms to absorb water and damage to the rooms.
The 292-bed medical center is at 5400 South Rainbow Boulevard.
